Final Thursday Informal of the Year
Thursday 15th December
This is the last meet up we’ll be doing this year, so make sure you come and join us before we have our winter break. We’ll be at Lost & Found from 6.30pm for casual drinks and chat, you can RSVP here.
BCU Type Talks with Jonathan Barnbrook
Monday 12th December
Type Talks are BCU’s monthly design lectures and take place at the Parkside Campus. This month’s lecture is held by graphic designer Jonathan Barnbrook.
The event is free, but you need to register for your ticket here. We’ll be heading over as a group, so if you want to join us you can RSVP here. We tend to meet up beforehand, and then go for drinks after.
Algorave @ Vivid Projects
Saturday 3rd December
Algorave returns to Birmingham on 3rd December to close Vivid Projects’ 2016 exhibition season.
An Algorave is a party where electronic music is generated live from algorithms. The word was coined around 2012, initially as a joke, but has since taken hold with Algoraves taking place in over 40 cities around the world.
Charles Celeste Hutchins
A video installation will showcase generative video art from national and international artists throughout the night. Artists include: Ryan Hughes, RITUALS, Chez.io, Sam Wray, LazerSausage, Sarah Walden, cappel:nord, and catweasel.
Ladies, Wine & Design
Wednesday 14th December, 6-8pm
A salon night held monthly, initially limited to eight creative ladies. We’ll wine (or whatever you’re drinking), dine, and have casual conversations on a wide variety of topics relating to creativity, business and life.
Lots going on with Provide / Best of Brum
There’s several events happening this month at Best of Brum. Starting with artist Imbue’s Hypnagogia exhibition launch tonight:
Controversial Birmingham artist Imbue is to hold his first major UK exhibition in over two years at Provide’s Best of Brum pop up space in the Great Western Arcade between Friday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 4th 2016.
Followed by BabMag Issue Four Launch on December 9th.
BabMag issue four launches at PROVIDE‘s pop up space “Best Of Brum” in the Great Western Arcade on the evening of the 9th December. In issue four we will be exploring Birmingham’s musical roots and rich history in Reggae with a feature on an 80s hit band. A collaborative T-shirt between ourselves and PROVIDE will also launch on the night paying homage to the featured music groups debut album.

“If These Walls Could Talk” consists of a personal collection of photographs dating between 2011-2016 that document the continuos moments & constant changes of a city, both socially & structurally.
Birmingham Etsy Market
From Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th December 2016
From Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th December 2016, Birmingham Originals will showcase the wealth of talented designers, artists and makers from the region in a festive market with the backdrop of the gorgeous Grade II listed Municipal Bank as their venue.
You can browse through locally made leather goods, letterpress stationery, crocheted headwear, try on beautiful and quirky jewellery, pick up some beautifully crafted ceramics and browse through many more makers wares. Full details to be confirmed soon – join the event to be kept up to date!
